This video was created by Aravoth (www.youtube.com in December of 2008, shortly after the Bush/McCain/Obama Bailout was signed into law. Aravoth titled this video “US Economy: Philosopher’s Stone,” and it quickly started to go viral. Unfortunately, although the video had racked up tens of thousands of views in a few short days, YouTube didn’t display the video on the”most viewed” list. Ultimately, though, the video garnered a few hundred thousand hits before YouTube muted the audio do to copyright issues with Warner Music. Similarly, Aravoth’s other famous Ron Paul/Peter Schiff videos were muted by YouTube as well. His videos were instrumental in the 2008 grassroots effort to spread the word about Ron Paul’s campaign. Videos such as “Ron Paul House of Cards,” “Ron Paul Don’t Tread on Me,” “Ron Paul Dream On,” garnered millions of views apiece. Ron Paul was a young medical doctor in the 1960s when he first stumbled across Hayek’s “Road to Serfdom” and other works that espoused the Austrian school of economics. Oh, an aside: I agree with you on the subject of wars. They are counter-productive and should be strictly defensive/last resort.
…however, government health and education spending certainly has NOT suffered any cuts as a result. In fact, both education and health have seen considerable increases in federal funding, even as we fight two wars. …..hence the 12 trillion dollar national debt. Oh well, at least we’re getting a superb education system.
The education system is systematically neutered by Republicans to produce a steady base of Republican voters.

I hate posting on these, but let me add that the government okayed this crazy “stimulus”, GM, and “cash for clunkers”, so what we have spent on the war seems silly at this point. Natonalized healthcare is just another disaster waiting to happen.

Have they ever really listened to the people? They do what they told to do, by the elite few that really control this government. Change that we can believe in… Were getting change alright, but not the kind of change we were expecting.
@oblisk47: the only way americans can get out of this financial mess is to let recession run its course. it’s a natural correction to all the excesses that the US has created for a few decades. what the US has done time and again during recession was to keep on pumping credit into the system, thus inflating a bubble that is already very inflated.
