CIndy McCain: Abortion not important

On September 17, 2008, ABC Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer took up the question Katie Couric recently asked Cindy McCain about her position on Roe v. Wade, which rendered an unclear answer. This second go-around rendered no clearer an answer on that important question. It did, however, render an insult to John McCain’s base, pro-lifers, as well as a misreading of the tea leaves of this 2008 campaign. Cindy McCain said abortion is not important in the election, which is just not true. Abortion is as much in the forefront of political discussion than any other issue. Furthermore, Cindy and John both missed a golden opportunity to push back on Obama’s charge that McCain is extremely out of touch on abortion by ticking off several demonstrations that it is actually Barack Obama who is extreme. Obama actively opposed IL’s Born Alive Infants Protection Act as state senator, which provided legal protection to abortion survivors. He opposed the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, which most Americans find heinous. And he opposes parental notification before minor girls abort. Finally, Obama has stated “the first thing” he’d do as president would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which would overturn every local, state, and federal law restricting abortion of the past 35 years. Golden opportunity missed and insult to base given all in one interview. Furthermore, John McCain continued to endorse the incorrect view that decisions of prenatal life and death should be left to to

“Abortion is here to stay- period.”

You’re naive. “Pro-lifers” have already regulated abortion clinics into near non-existence in many states. Mississippi has 1 clinic now. And they require a 3 day waiting period and a lecture to convince the woman that abortion is wrong. How are poor woman to deal with that? Abortion may be legal, but it’s not available to those woman who want one. The executive branch appoints judges.

And John McCain has the same name as John Dillinger (Bank Robber), John Wilkes Boothe (Assassin), John Wayne Gacy (Serial Killer), and John Hinckley Jr. (Shot Ronald Reagan). Interesting don’t you think? Dumbass.

  3. clwhp560 says:

“(btw John is an extremely common name”

“Hussein” is a very common Arabic name that means “good”. And are you saying that if you’ve never heard the name “Obama” before, it must be evil? “Obama” means “blessed”. “Osama” means “lion”. But I guess in your mind everyone with a “strange” name is a terrorist. Your original comment was racist.

  5. clwhp560 says:

Yes yes ofcorse cuz i am DEFINITELY a total racist
    ABSOLUTElY…with OUT a doubt

Well, what would you call profiling someone based solely on their name? You said it was interesting that “Obama” sounds like “Osama”.
You mentioned “Huessein”. What the hell am I supposed to think of your shallow comments?

The overturning of Roe v. Wade is definitely important to me. I plan to work with pregnant teens. This is a HUGE issue that affects me on a very personal level! Cindy McCain has no idea what is and is not important to the people.

Interesting that you’re a missionary but don’t capitalize “Bible”, “God” … What’s up with that?
“…but save for yourselves every ‘girl’ who has never slept with a man”

    That’s plain CREEPY!

  18. missionarysarahbarry says:

God orders children/fetus killed: Moses was angry with the officers of the army who returned from battle. “Have you allowed all the women to live?” he asked them. “They were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD’s people. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man. [Num 31:14-18]

Cindy McCain looks so good. Cindy McCain would be a wonderful wife. It would be great if more women could be mroe like her. Independent, Smart, yet Sexy at the same time.

  22. HunterORL23 says:

I think what Cindy was trying to say is that her husband is the candidate and it’s not like she is going to have the power to veto or send into law social issues such as abortion control as first lady and even if she did have that power than she’s stated clearly before that like many American couples her husband and herself do not agree on every tiny detail in politics.
